Submit an unpublished Medium draft. Aim for at least five minutes of reading time, roughly 850 words or more. Editors may make exceptions for strong shorter pieces.
Write original work, credit your sources and mark quotations clearly. Use numbered references where appropriate. Check facts and links, then proofread before submitting.
Use images you have permission to publish. Credit them in captions and add descriptive alt text. Use clear link labels that tell readers where a link leads.
Check AI output, including code and references. Under Medium's AI content policy, disclose AI-generated text within the first two paragraphs and label AI-generated images in their captions.
Spelling, grammar, outlining and fact-checking tools alone need no disclosure. Medium does not allow AI-generated writing behind its Partner Program paywall.
Articles promoting a company or product follow our sponsorship process. This includes promotion of open-source software from funded companies. Please discuss these pieces with us before submitting.
Outside our scope: we do not accept articles about finance, investing, trading, stock markets, valuation, cryptocurrencies or non-fungible tokens (NFTs).
Our editors review submissions and may request changes. Submitting a draft does not guarantee acceptance.
