As nations race to secure their digital futures, the global AI landscape is fracturing. The era of reliance on a few corporate clouds is ending, giving way to a new world of state-controlled digital fortresses built for national survival.

The article explains why “sovereign AI” is becoming a geopolitical imperative: nations are moving away from renting AI capacity from hyperscalers to treating compute, data, and models as critical national infrastructure.
