Part 2: Claude Code channels turn CI failures, bug reports, and deploy alerts into messages that to the session that already knows your codebase. Telegram, Discord, iMessage, and your own webhooks
Every alert pulls you back to the terminal to recreate context you already had ten minutes ago. It does not have to. External events like CI failures and bug reports should arrive inside the Claude session that already has your project loaded, not in an email that sends you walking back to your laptop.

After the lead, the article explains the core idea of Claude Code channels as “transport, not a separate cloud agent”: channels bridge external events into a locally running Claude session so the model can act with already-loaded context. It lays out practical requirements and operational constraints (the session must stay running, permission prompts can still pause execution, and channel servers consume local resources), then walks through the supported real channels—iMessage, Telegram, and Discord—plus a demo-first fakechat workflow and a custom “build-your-own” webhook path. It emphasizes security via sender allowlists (to prevent prompt injection by gating on who can send events, not which room/chat) and covers how permission relay enables approving tool-use prompts from your phone or chat app. The piece concludes with the always-on pattern (run Claude Code persistently via tmux/screen), production tips like auto-restart and logging, and a short action checklist to get at least one working channel.
